Remember Where You Are Coming From!

 Hi friends,

The heavenly pilgrimage we have embarked on is such that we cannot but make conscious and deliberate effort to do a retrospect so we do not lose focus of this eternal high way and turn back to our vomit like so many have done.

 Deuteronomy 24:18 says,

But thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman in Egypt,

and the Lord thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command

 thee to do this thing.

I had the privilege of attending the anniversary of a local assemble where I have been serving the Lord some time and the leadership tagged the Theme: Remember where you are coming from.

We were privileged to meet some of the pioneer members of this church and the various impacts they have made. We were also encouraged to continue from where they have stopped because the baton is now in our hands.

They also showed some video clips of the past and we could not but laugh and appreciate the Almighty God who is indeed the head of His church. This taught me so much as a heavenly pilgrim that I cannot but share with us.

To remember simply means to bring to one’s mind an awareness

Many believers have forgotten how Jesus encountered them and took them to the cross for cleansing, change their lives and clothed them with a garment of righteousness as pilgrims.

Many supposedly heaven minded Christians, demon casters and tongue speaking Christians of yester-years have lost their salvation and eternal purpose as they forgot where they were coming from and involved themselves in the Vanity Fair of life.

The materialistic quest, want of fame and recognition, increase in knowledge, unhealthy competition, rivalry and self-aggradization has becoming the undoing of so many simply because they have forgotten where Jesus encountered them.

There is a great need to remember where we are coming from so that we do not forget where we are going and also be able to run this race with patience and perseverance the race set before us if at all we want to attain.

Apostle Paul admonished that;

since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witness there is every need to set aside every sin and weight which doeth so easily besets us so we can run with patience the race set before us looking onto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.

Every river that forgets its source will always run dry. If you forget God as your ultimate source you will definitely dry up in the scourging sun and the raging storms of life.

Remain focused, unrelenting and rapturable until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Maranatha!

Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,

Pastor Janet
