The great singles foundation is an interdenominational non- governmental
organization born out of a passion to reach out to the numerous singles that
are passing through great challenges due to their marital status. This vision
encompasses reaching out to teenagers who are often most abused because of
their inability to identify their true identity because of the challenges and
changes that accompany this period of their transition from childhood to
adulthood.it also comprises singles who are “over- aged” or who were once
married but suddenly find themselves single again due to death of spouses or
otherwise. Some from this category suddenly discover they are single parents
and may never recover from the shock if not helped.
It embraces singles of
all ages i.e. from age 12- 45 or even above as long as the individual remains
unmarried. This is a vision that has been nursed by founder for over ten years
and by the grace of God it is now a reality.
It sole aim and vision is to empower singles at various
levels mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually through bi-monthly fellowships,
workshops and seminars where seasoned speakers
will be brought in to train members out of their wealth of experience. During
her empowerment seminars members will be exposed to skill acquisition and other
avenues to generate funds for businesses ideas.
Our vision and mission statement is:
They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strenght.
Our aims and objectives are as follows: -
1.
To
help teenagers identify themselves in their transition stage.
2.
To
curb teenage pregnancies and sexual abuse that is on daily increase.
3.
To
help singles of marriageable make the right decisions about future career and
future spouses.
4.
To
equip singles within the afore mentioned to say no to pre-marital sex.
5.
To
help singles who were married before but by death or separation find themselves
single again find their place in the society without feeling displaced.
6.
To
equip singles such as seen in 5 above in various areas of need.
7.
To
empower singles of these various categories particularly in pursuit of their
chosen educational career or profession.
8.
To
engage as many possible these singles in various fields of learning and
profession particular the unlearned ones.
9.
To
make every single appreciates the fact they are bona fide members of the
society without feeling stigmatized.
In the bid to reach to these singles
and make them have proper perspective about their singleness we have written several
books and preached severally on our blog (www.wholistickingdomliving.blogspot.com). I have also been a speaker at
various youth seminars and singles fellowship. I believe with this organization
more singles will still be reached and helped. The single life is quite
challenging but it is a graceful period because of Christ.
We hereby welcome members from all
race, religion, denominations and all
walks of life. By this we throw an open invitation to all.
Yours truly,
Janet Kemi Oluwadamisi
Visioneer.
