Hi friends,
On this pilgrimage heavenward, we need to stay focused on God
and His word being rest assured that whatever He did for the people of old He
has the ability and even much more to do in our lives and through our lives as
well.
For
by thee I have run through a troop, and by my God I leaped
over
a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord
is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Going by the above statement, the Psalmist was giving credit to the Almighty God for every seemingly good and impossible thing he must have achieved during his life time.
As I read through this scripture, I kept wandering how humanly possible it is for any man to run through a troop. As for leaping over a wall it might be achievable if it a wall and a low one but leaping over walls at once is an impossibility. This can only be by a divine and supernatural ability.
He was so convinced beyond doubt that God was perfect as much as His word and hence He is a buckler to all those who put their trust in Him. He could even liken God’s protective ability to that of a buckler.
This statement reminds me of nothing but learning to give God glory for every little thing He does for us and through us as heavenly candidates.
Often times we forget that without God, we can do nothing that we tend to want to share God’s glory but when we acknowledge His awesome deeds through our lives we return glory to His name.
The Apostle further amplifies this when he confessed that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. He was simply saying with God’s help and assistance he could do every good thing.
Beloved, the only reason why you would do anything and everything good is because God gave you the empowerment and made everything needed to work out for that purpose.
Let’s learn and choose to give Jesus who is the Lord of this highway the glory so that we can make meaningful impact and achieve great feats on this pilgrimage.
Keep doing the Master’s business with great haste and returning glory to Him until we meet at the eternal shores.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet
