Sure Mercies of David

Hi friends,

As we journey heavenward, we need to stay focused on a very unique and peculiar attribute of God which is the only reason a pilgrim would breakthrough and break forth. It is nothing but the sure mercies of God.

It is this sure and unchangeable mercies of Jehovah God that the Bible also refers to as the sure mercies of David. Isaiah 55:3 says,

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live,

I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies

 of David.

The Bible passage above is an appeal from the Lord God that you should come to Him and incline your ear to Him. Here is an injunction from Jehovah the Lord of the way that every believer who wants to be a partaker of this sure mercy should listen to him and also come to Him.

God is a covenant keeping God and because of the covenant He made with David wherein He said even if David’s children sin and turn away from Yahweh the God of Israel, there will always be a descendant of David on the throne or what is called a remnant.

This scripture is not just making reference to the merciful nature of God but with specific emphasis on the sure mercies of David. Why the sure mercies of David?

To be sure means to be completely confident that one is right.

By God’s divine nature, it is impossible for Him to lie. In fact the Bible summarizes this by saying, by two immutable things, it is impossible for God to lie. Wow!

Since every believer is a spiritual Israelite of the Davidic genealogy, we have every right of complete confidence in the sure mercies of God. Mercy over-rides and overruled even in the face of outright disobedience in the time of David’s generations. this is by no means an attempt to water down obedience to God's Word but incase we fall into sin which is not presumptuous

As you choose God to be at the center of your life and purpose, I see His sure mercies availing and over-ruling for you par time in Jesus name, amen.

Enjoy God’s abundant and sure mercy as we pilgrim until we meet at the eternal shores of the golden city.

Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,

Pastor Janet
