Be Not Unwise

Hi friends,

As our earthly sojourn gradually comes to an end and eternity gets clearer in view, we cannot but remind ourselves of the need to be wise. Many pilgrims have gradually left the true path by engaging in unhealthy rivalry and competition.

The Bible enjoins us in the book of 2Corinthians 10: 12

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare

ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they

measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing

themselves among themselves, are not wise. 

The issue of rivalry and healthy competition has become an issue of great concern in the present day church as supposed heaven minded Christians shift their focus from Christ – the Author and Finisher of our faith to manifesting the works of the flesh.

Every pilgrim is so unique and differently wired by the Lord of this highway after His desired purpose and will for their lives that a believer with proper understanding should not engage in any form of unhealthy competition.

By this ‘foolishness’ many supposed fire brand pilgrims have been reduced to witchcraft and every form of evil practices in an attempt to outdo each other or bring the other pilgrim down as if that will increase the perpetrator.

They have become political and hypocritical while losing focus of their divine purpose to chase after folly. They tend to forget that Jesus should be their pattern and aspiration not other seemingly prosperous individual.

For such ‘competitors and rivals’ the issue of agape love which is the message of Christianity has no meaning and the purpose of the cross which is to reconcile men to God and men to men makes little or no meaning.

Self has become their idol, how to acquire more like the Rich fool is their greatest ambition. Prosperity at all cost like Balaam is their goal and carnality like Lot’s wife is their most cherished desire.

The Bible describes such as having pierced themselves with many swords and making their belly their god. It further describes them as having a form of godliness but denying the power of godliness. We were admonished to turn away from such lest we become infested with their deadly disease.

They are further categorized as people without natural affection and despisers of those that are good, unholy and truce breakers, lovers of self rather than lovers of God.

If these description describes you, permit to say without mincing words that you need to visit the cross of Jesus. It means that at your last visit to Calvary, you only fainted and never died to self. If further implies that you have lost focus of the heavenly calling.

Jesus is waiting for your return to Him today with an open arms like the father of the Biblical prodigal son. He wants to give you a new heart and garment that befits this heavenly race.

My greatest admonish to you is to come back home. Jesus is waiting for you. Do not allow the enemy of your soul to rejoice over you in a Christ less eternity. He loves you dearly and passionately. Return to your God and your maker now.

Stay blessed until we meet at the golden city of the New Jerusalem.
