As we view eternity at a closer and closer range, I want us to sing a hymn written by James Milton Black who felt bad that a child was not in his Sunday school class and was hunted by how terribly it will be for one's name not to be found in the book of Life.
Don't just sing this hymn because it is melodious but meditate on the lyrics. I pray that you and I will not miss our way home In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
1. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound,
And time shall be no more,
When the morning breaks eternal
bright and fair,
When the saved of the earth
shall gather
Over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder
I will be there.
Chorus.
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I will be there
2. On the cloudless morning
When the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of his resurrection share,
When the chosen ones shall gather
To their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called yonder I will be there.
Chorus
3. Let us labor for the Master
From dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all his wondrous love and care,
Then when all of life is over
and our work on earth is done,
When the roll is called up yonder I will be there.
Chorus
May our names not be found missing when the roll call of God shall be
in the great beyond In Jesus Mighty Name.
Have a safe landing on the eternal shores.
Your friend and Fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet
Amen
