Hi friends,
It is yet another day closer to our
eternal destination and if there is anything I have come to discover about life
in this few decades of my life, it is the fact that the battles become tougher
just before victory is won.
I have also discovered that the
darkest hour is shortly before the day breaks. At the time it seems an
individual has lost hope and at the verge of giving up, God Almighty shows
forth for that individual. After all, He is the hope of the hopeless and also the
hope of the faithful.
May I hereby encourage your hearts
and weary souls, that there is need to step aside and stand still if you must
see the salvation of the Almighty God. Remember what God told our brethren the Israelites
on their journey to Canaan?
Exodus 14:13 states some very
salient but important keys to victory in the journey of life . It says;
And
Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and
see the salvation of the Lord,
which he will shew to you today:
for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye
shall see them
again no more forever. (KJV)
Challenges, battles and oppositions
from fellow humans and the kingdom of darkness are part and parcel of life. In
fact, to amplify this fact, Pastor E.A Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church
Of God said and I quote though paraphrased,
“Why a new born baby cries
immediately it is born is that the baby is shouting here is life full of
battles!”.
Then to even compound the issue is
the fact that you are on the highway to an eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The devil can never and will never let you be.
In the scripture I just quoted
earlier, the Israelites were on the journey to their promised land just like
you are on your journey to Heaven. They thought the Egyptians had released them
for good until they got the Red Sea only to discover that they were in hot
pursuit after them.
There was a desert to one side, The
Amorites that will not allow them pass through their land on the other side.
The Egyptians were closing in on them from behind and the Red Sea right in
front with nowhere or anyone to turn to.
They began to murmur and grumble
against Moses wishing they could go back to Egypt and continue their lives of
slavery forgetting too soon that there is a God up in the sky whose ears are
never too dull to hear His children and whose hands are never too short to
deliver every weary pilgrim!
As they cried, murmur and grumbled against the
man of God, Moses cried to Heaven looking up to Jesus- the author and finisher
of his faith. The only thing that God told Him was to tell the people to
eliminate fear and stand still.
Are you going through challenges
and the fear of man, fear of uncertainties and the fear of the unknown seems to
have gotten the better part of you? Have you lost hope over something dear to
you? Are you at your wit’s end and at the verge of giving up? It is time to
stand still.
Remember God has not given you the
spirit of fear? Fear is the enemy of your faith. Stand still. The Egyptians you
see today are too small for your God and my God to handle. By implication, that
mountain no matter how tall is not an impossibility with this great God!
Beloved choose to stand still in
your struggles and God’s salvation will come through for you. God bless you
bountifully on this Pilgrimage!
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim,
Pastor Janet.
