Hi friends,
I was at a function this afternoon and as I came back fatigued
out with so much to do and very limited time, I was wondering if I would be
able to share with you my beloved reader but the Holy Spirit kept whispering
today’s topic to my Spirit man and I would want to talk about Judging ourselves
as pilgrim’s.
The Bible says in Mathew 7:1-2
Judge not that ye be not judged. For with
what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete out
it shall be measured to you again.
Often times Christians neglect the weightier matters of the law
which is truth and justice and we become judges and task masters over our
fellow brethren forgetting that there is no provision for self righteousness in
the scriptures.
The Bible which is our manual for life encourages us again
and again to be our brother’s keeper and encourager but today’s Christianity has
taken an entirely different dimension.
A well renowned author once said in his book that the only
place where soldiers help to kill their wounded soldiers is in the Christendom!
We set standards that are acceptable and suitable to us and
use it to measure our fellow pilgrims. We borrow values from the world, our
culture and society bring it to the church and set it as our acceptable standard.
We forget too soon that why God cursed Cain was because he
refused to be his brother’s keeper and became his judge. Rather than partner
with God for the healing of soldiers wounded on the battle field of life, we
expose them to fierce battle to eliminate them as long as they fall short of
our set standard and rules.
Have we forgotten that the Almighty God does not look at the
outward but inner being of every man? Even Samuel, the most anointed priest and
prophet of his time almost missed it until God called Him to order.
Jesus condemned the Pharisees and the Sadducees of His time because
of their injustice in sitting on the judgment seat to judge others based on
their pious and religious laws.
Repent today if you are guilty of this evil act. The heavenly
race we are called to run is too rigorous and demanding than for us to allow
this ungodly act become part of our Christian norms. The road is too narrow for
us to accommodate such evil.
Make your ways right with the Lord today so you can have a
safe landing. If you don’t want to fall into judgement, stop being judgemental.
Whatever you will not desire or expect to be done to you, why do it to others
who are equally created in the image of Christ.
Remember God cannot be mocked. Whatever a man sows,
that shall he reap also.
God bless you as we move another closer to our eternal
destination. Remember it is not yet over until God says it is.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
