Hi friends,
Today we will be examine another very crucial aspect of this Christian
race. It is nothing but the enabling power of God as echoed by the Psalmist. Who
rightly quoted that:
The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear? The
Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1
The importance of light can not be overemphasized in our day
today life. The brightness of the light that a man has access to determines the
extent of the things that will be visible to him/her. Light is for progress
because where light is absent not much can be achieved, does that not also give
us a better understanding as to the fact that during creation, God created
lights in their different categories first? Light gives warmth irrespective of
its source whether as lighted with stones like the olden days or electricity like
we have in this modern times , it is a major
of development and progress. Development is almost impossible where light is
absent that is why in any developing area, the first sign of development is
availability of electric power supply for light. light gives visibility in that it exposes
everything that is hidden, whether they be spiritual or physical. Light dispels
the darkness of demonic activities and ignorance. Little wonder the Bible says and the
light shineth in the darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it. Light gives understanding about any and every
issue of life. Where there is chaos and turbulence when light appears it is
bound to disappear. Does that not explain why Jesus tells us that
He is the light of life and in His light we shall see light? Beloved
Pilgrim, life is full of a lot of uncertainties, uphills, valleys and down turns
but there is one who knows the way even through the wilderness of life. He is
no other than Christ Jesus Himself.
As all these usefulness and many others not mention are the
importance of light to the physical life even so is it to the spiritual wellbeing
of the believer on his journey to heaven. The Psalmist must have ruminated in
his mind what he could compare God to before he chose light and the essentiality
of light made him liken it to God. The Lord he was referring to in the above
passage is no other than Jesus Christ Himself. He alone is the source of
everything you could ever need or desire in this Christian race. It is He who
is the true companion who never leaves nor abandon the pilgrim on his pilgrimage.
It is He who knows the way through the mountains, the valleys and the uphill of
life. He is the one ever willing to hold you and I by the hand and lead us
through to our eternal home. He is ever faithful, just and true to His word. As
you trust Him all the way you can be sure He will keep and preserve you
blameless until the coming of Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul said and I paraphrase,
I know
whom I have believed and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have
committed unto Him until that glorious day.
Does that not give more voice to what the Psalmist said earlier?
As you trust God all the way through this strait and narrow way, may your
testimony be like the Psalmist that the Lord is my light and my salvation whom
shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?
Stay blessed as we take another league today through our
heavenly journey home.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.

Without the light of God, our lives can never be developed. The development of light brings about assessment, acceptability, to activate the availability of the Spirit of God in our life.
