Hi friends,
On this eternal highway, many pilgrims have lost their
bearing because they have forgotten that it is a journey we must all return
home to give an account to our creator and maker of how we lived here on earth.
He has made everything beautiful in its time: He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no man can fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end.
I was privileged to be part of the wake keep and burial
ceremony of the mother of a renowned cardiologist who happens to be a strong
member of my local assembly. How I wished I had met this beautiful soul before
she transited to glory!
For the first time, I saw where every member of the deceased
family came out to testify of this Christian woman who had spent her entire
life making impact on both her biological and spiritual children, children in-laws,
her local assembly, Christian body and even on global mission.
Grandma London as she was popularly called operated in the
prayer ministry, Dorcas’ Ministry, Martha Ministry which was practically
emphasized by everyone who visited her home and Anna’s ministry of cleaning and
beautifying the house of the Lord while waiting for the coming of her Lord.
The daughter –in-law said she died on her chest after asking
her and the son for permission to go home. She sang songs of praises and
worship all through her last days until she went home to sing with the angels
in glory.
The testimony of her son during the wake keep as he pointed
to His mother’s picture was, ‘My mother
is beautiful inside out and I am rest assured that she has gone to be with the
Lord. We shall meet again on the resurrection morning’.
That was a weighty comment from a son about his mother in a
generation where we cannot really tell who is a Christian or not. It was a
celebration of life as the son testified of the Christian walk of his deceased
mother amidst tears.
The above scripture says, 'God makes all things beautiful in
his own time having set eternity in the hearts of men'. Indeed Mrs. Onyemazuwa Idia JP lived and
pleased her maker. She impacted so many lives like the Tabitha of old.
An icon has just gone home to glory. The church has lost but
heaven has gained a saint. We loved her but heaven loves her more. Rest
on, Grandma London till we meet at the bosom of Christ where we shall meet to
part no more. Adieu!
Can we say same of you if the Lord calls you home today? If
the trumpet should sound now can the angels rise to receive you into glory? Do
you live daily remembering that you were saved to serve?
Keep doing the Master’s business with great passion and
enthusiasm irrespective of what life throws at you till we meet at the golden city
of the New Jerusalem where all tears will be wiped away.
Your friend and
fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet
