Hi friends,
As we
journey on this kingdom highway to our eternal abode, we need to remind ourselves
about the unfailing promises of God which are sure and true so that our
trust in the Almighty God can be renewed.
One of this
sure promises is recorded in the book of Psalms 34:5 which says:
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their
faces were not ashamed.
As we live our lives daily and continually, the
enemy of our soul tries to bring up events and circumstances which can cause
shame. This five lettered word has led to the death of so many human who end
up committing suicide or fall into depression and even have cardiac arrest.
This word
shame means,
A painful feeling that is a mix of regret,
self-hate and dishonour.
Jehovah who made mankind and knows that shame is not needed
for His children who know and truly serve Him made it in such a way that each time a
pilgrim focuses on Him unflinching, He turns any attempt of the devil to cause
shame and reproach into a miracle.
Challenges are very much a part of life in itself. They are God’s
building block to mould fervent Christians and pilgrims but the enemy often
time wants to use it to cause self-hate, pain , regret and even dishonour.
The Bible records the account of the Isrealites while on their journey to the promised land angered God through their complains and grumblings. This made God to send fiery serpents amongst them who bite them to death.
Our all merciful father made a way of escape for them when he told Moses to make a brazen snake such that each time they look at it they are saved and delivered from death by the snake's venom.
That was an antitype of Christ in the new Testament. Each time the enemy intends to bring shame to a pilgrim, God turns it into a miracle if such a one would truly look onto Jesus.
The Apostle further amplifies this when he said, looking onto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame thereof.
Before every divine lifting there is a pain to endure. There is a shame to despise before heaven shows forth your glorification. It may look like shame wants to come but when we truly and deeply focus on Jesus, it becomes a glory.
Beloved, don't give up on God yet. All you need is a little more patience. A little more hope and everything will align together for your good and lifting. Take more time to look heavenward as we journey with each one looking at the author and finisher of our faith. You will be enlightened and delivered from every form of shame and reproach.
God bless your dear soul as we pilgrim together. Stay calm and maintain focus until we meet at the eternal shores of the golden city.
Your friend and
fellow Pilgrim in the kingdom race,
Pastor Janet
