Hi friends,
Hopelessness has been the undoing of so many pilgrims on this
eternal highway. Living a life of compromise, backsliding and even deviating to
the kingdom of darkness is all as a result of hopelessness.
Job a man, who had seen it all said something very profound
in Job 14:7 and I echo:
There is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
This is the confession of Brother Job after He lost his family, friends, health, possession and wealth. He even experienced spiritual attack as we present day Christians will call it. Mind you, these all started because God made a boast about him.
Listen to me, dear friends, no matter how bleak or hopeless
your situation looks there is hope in God. This is not because you deserved to
be helped or lifted but because this is the area of Jesus’ specialization. That
is why He is called the hope of the faithful.
Life in itself is a bag of uncertainty with ups and downs.
The fear of uncertainty has been the undoing of so many people. This fear has
led them to doing a lot of unimaginable deeds but there is hope for you as you
journey heavenward.
Trials will come. Tribulations may accompany it. Disappointments
and the storms of life may assail you. Afflictions from the evil one may not be
far-fetched but I have come to sound this loud and clear that there is hope for
you in the midst of all these prevailing circumstances.
Jesus proving Himself as the hope of the faithful has been
witnessed over the years in the lives of the heroes of faith and other biblical
characters. This should make you know that of a certainty, He never failed
them, He won’t start with you.
To further amplify this, Jesus Himself told His disciples
that in this world they shall have tribulations but they should be of good
cheer because He has overcome the world.
The entire life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ was to
bring hope. Little wonder, He raised the dead, healed the sick, delivered the
oppressed, provided for the hungry and needy. Brought back to the faith those
that are erring all in the bid to restore hope.
Hope is the good news and good news is the Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Jesus entered the temple and made the public declaration that the
spirit of the Lord is upon Him because He has anointed Him to preach the good
news of hope.
Against hope, Abraham believed in hope and it was accounted
to him as righteousness. If only you can allow your hope in this Almighty God
to rise as you move closer to our eternal abode, heaven will account it as
righteousness for you.
Keep believing and keep hope alive until we meet at the
eternal shores of the golden city.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
