Hi Friends,
On this
eternal highway, the best you can do as a Christian pilgrim is to make your boast
in the Lord and with the name of the Lord. The prophet Isaiah who had understanding
loudly proclaimed in Isaiah 25:1-2 and I quote;
A closer look at the
above scriptures reveals that it is an expression of trust and confidence in
the Almighty God. It is a declaration of God’s power and ability to establish
His counsel in faithfulness and truth.
He went further to
mention God’s ability to undo anything that is against the truth by using the metaphor
that a defended city is made into a ruin and a palace becoming no city which
can never be rebuilt.
Too many of us as Christians
mourn and weep and lament on this pilgrimage because we have chosen to forget
God’s ability and magnify the devil’s mischiefs and works. We forget that the
creator of the universe is our God and the Lord of this highway.
The Christian walk is
a walk of faith which demands that you look beyond your present and immediate
circumstances and see God through His Word with the eye of faith. Little wonder,
the Bible says; looking unto Jesus, the
author and finisher of our faith who for the joy set ahead of Him endured the
cross.
Oh yes, there is a
cross to carry and that has to be carried daily too. There is a self – denial that
must mark the believer’s path yet a better attitude and altitude is acquired
when we choose to boast in God’s divine ability and power even in our
weaknesses.
What He did in the
times of old He is still much more able to do if we can look at Him with the
eye of faith. With Jehovah God there is no favoritism because He is the God of
the mountains and of the hills. He is the God of the day time and the mid night
hour.
His counsel for every
of His children is ever faithful because it is always a replica of His faithful
nature and deeds. It is ever true because in Him there is no lie or darkness at
all.
Men may and will be untrue
or even unjust but with the God of Israel there is no variableness or shadow of
turning. As if that is not enough description every good and every perfect gift
come from Him who is above all!
What He did for the people
of old He can and will still do it again, why not make a boast about Him like
Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah and other prophets of old? Why not a prayer of thanks
giving and appreciation to the Omnipotent God like Jesus our Lord did when he
was to raise Lazarus?
The only way to keep
the devil your arch enemy away is to continually boast, recount and proclaim
the ability of this all powerful and all-knowing God, who takes pleasure in
displaying this power that men may learn to honor and revere Him.
Keeping on dancing,
singing and boasting in the Lord until we meet at the eternal shores.
Your friend and fellow
Pilgrim in the Kingdom race,
Pastor Janet.
