Song of divine lifting

Hi friends,

As we move closer home to our eternal abode permit to remind us that it does not matter how low it seems you are placed in life, our God is a lifter of men!

Will you please, join me as we sing this song in adoration of the God who lifts men as we also place a demand on Him that He lifts us up? God bless you as we sing together.

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord plant my feet on higher grounds”.

Chorus
Lord lift me up, and let me stand,
By faith, on heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord plant my feet on higher grounds!

My heart has no desire to stay,
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell, where these abound,
But my constant aim is higher ground!

Beyond the midst, I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found,
Only by those who dwell on higher grounds.

I long to scale, the outmost height;
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song while climbing, shall resound
Lord lead me onto higher grounds.

Lord lead me up, the mountain side;
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.

As you sing this song meditatively on this pilgrimage, the Almighty God will lift you beyond your wildest imagination in your glorious destiny in Jesus mighty name. Shalom!

Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.

  1. My kids love this hymn and we sing it often during morning devotions. God bless you Ma. It reminds me of the Yoruba song: Oluwa jor, wa gbemi so ke
