It does amaze me how the days just fly past as if it really is nothing. Many times I try to talk to myself and wonder if I am as old as my years are. The Psalmist, the man after God’s own heart said some very scary things that we must constantly take to heart.
It does amaze me how the days just fly past as if it really is nothing. Many times I try to talk to myself and wonder if I am as old as my years are. The Psalmist, the man after God’s own heart said some very scary things that we must constantly take to heart.
Psalms 102:11-13 says some very
hard but bitter truth about this life we are living that the proper
understanding of it will help us live our lives with eternity in view. I quote:
My days are like a shadow that
declineth; and I am withered like grass. But thou, O Lord, shalt endure forever;
and thy remembrance unto all generations. (KJV)
The only thing and only one that is
forever is God. Every other man or being or creature will last for only but for
a while. The remembrance of the Lord God Almighty is also forever because of
the mightiness of His works and deeds.
When we see, hear or observe how
the whole of creation speak of God’s mighty power, we cannot but remember Him
and give Him the praise that is due to Him.
Even when a man lives for a hundred
years, they seem to be so few that you can only liken them to the shadows.
Every achievement of man, his
endless ambitions and aspirations are nothing but to be liken to withering
grass. If this be true, one would wonder why some people live their lives as if
it is forever.
Do we conclude that they do not
have the proper understanding? Do we liken them to the ignorant or immature? Do
we infer that it is because they have the wrong perception or values? I cannot
just but wonder at all of these and many more.
The man with the right perception
about God and about life will know that his days are as few as the shadows that
is just but for a while.The knowledgeable man knows that he is just like grass
that will soon wither away and his remembrance is but short lived. The God
fearing knows that it is only God that
will last forever.
Beloved friends, what is the record
of God about your life? What is the report of men about you? My late mother
said some,‘people sew their clothes with iron as if it is a forever life’.
It is only life in Christ Jesus
that will last forever. It is only what Jesus gives that will last forever. It
is only where the master dwells that will endure forever.It is only the life
that Christ gives that will last forever.
The only way to partake in that
forever is to make Jesus the Lord of your life and Lord of your entire being.
HE IS THE LORD OF THE WAY!
Keep your focus on the master and
you will be a master over the issues of life.
