Hi friends,
I was amazed sometimes ago when I ran
into a friend during my college days who happens to be a military officer. I do
remember vividly well during our school days how I would have scored this
Christian Brother for a pastor.
He had such an innocent look and
was one of the fellowship executives those good old days. He sang so well that himself
and some of his friends formed a singing group we were always eager to listen
to. But alas, he became a military officer!
Why am I telling you this story? It
is not to bore you on this kingdom highway but to make us know that too many
times we know little or nothing about the future that is right ahead of us.
We judge God wrongly and misplace
one another. We are so easily deceived by physical looks that we refuse to
allow God reveal ourselves to us and the inner being of others. Little wonder
we fall prey to the enemies devices.
No man that warreth entangleth
himself with the affairs of this life;
that he may please him who hath
chosen him to be a soldier. (KJV)
We want so much of life’s comfort
and pleasure that we have become ‘Bloody Civilians’. We grumble and complain
when God allows the slightest discomfort come our way to train us.
We judge God as having forgotten us
and ask a lot of unreasonable questions when all that heaven is trying to do is
build military sense in us. We sleep and snore when God expects us to be at the
war front against the arch enemy of our soul- the devil and his cohorts.
We are so taken away by the cares
of this life and the mundane things in it that we have lost focus of eternity.
How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation!
If we must attain like Apostle Paul
and the heroes of faith who have gone ahead it is high time we wake up from our
slumber and face the reality of life in Christ Jesus.
The scripture further admonishes us that no
soldier who wants to please his employer entangles himself with civilian affairs!
The Apostle said he has fought the
good fight of faith. He has finished his course. Will that be your testimony at
the end of your life’s journey considering the way you are living your life
today?
Have a re-think beloved friend. You
have come a long way and must not give up on God. There is a glorious reward
awaiting us at the end of time.
Keep the fire of the spirit burning
even as we fight the good fight of faith together.
Have a safe landing on the eternal
shores.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in
the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet

Its a wonderful piece,I have been blessed. More grace to you
