Hi friends,
For too many of us Christians, wilderness is the last thing
we will want to hear or see in out dictionary. To even mention the wilderness
experience is a an abomination as far as many of us present day Pentecostals are
concerned.
But in the agenda of Heaven the wilderness experience is a
must for every Pilgrim on this highway of holiness.
Too many Christians have jumped out of their wilderness
experience and continued living their Christians lives as half baked Christians.
Some others have short cut their ways out of the wilderness experience and have
thus cut short their destinies.
To some others the wilderness experience is nothing short of
sin or an indication that the believer is not a victorious Christian just as the
biblical account of Job and his three friends but far be it from it.
The wilderness experience more often than not is God’s
invention to prove the believer and enable Him know what is in their heart just
as God allowed the Israelites wonder in the wilderness for forty years so He
could know what was in their heart whether they loved Him or not.
The wilderness experience as the name implies is also where
the believer is approved when he/she has learnt the secret of crucifying the
flesh. Hence in the wilderness the flesh
and its attributes are withered away.
During the wilderness experience, the true character of Christ
of exhibiting the fruits of the Holy Spirit becomes a lifestyle of the genuine
believer while the non genuine Christians will resolve to manifest the works of
the flesh.
In the wilderness, the believer builds an intimate
relationship with God through a continuous and consistent relationship with the
Spirit of God.
The believer is able to understand his helplessness and the
need for God thus building up Himself in his most holy faith. He grows in
faith.
The wilderness experience will make the believer who is
heaven minded to see his inability and helplessness and his continuous need for
a loving savior at all times and in every way.
During the wilderness experience the believer builds a good
prayer life and prayer system since he sees in his weakness and the divine strength
he could assess by so doing.
A believer’s wilderness experience could be as a result of so
many factors. Some of which we might not
even be able to highlight them all but I will try to list as many as the Holy Spirit
will bring to my memory.
The Almighty God will allow His children go thorough
wilderness experience for some of the following reasons:
1.
To
build a strong and intimate relationship with them.
2.
To
separate them from the world system and values.
3.
To
promote them to a higher spiritual, social, emotional and material level.
4.
To
build an eternal and heavenly value in them.
5.
To
put a mark of distinction on them.
6.
To
prepare them to help others who might not have the same capability of standing
the pressure of receiving directly from God.
7.
To
prepare them for their eternal home.
I want you to have an inward search
as you take a look at your own life. The heavier
your cross the more glorious you reward.
Stay blessed and remain rapturable. Heaven
at last shall be our reward in Jesus Mighty name.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the
kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
