Hi friends,
I belief you must have had another eventful Sunday as usual, Sunday service, social visits paid and received from friends and paid to them, cooking, setting of tables for family meals, preparations for another new week, Hmmm and a host of others. If I may ask, where have you truly placed God in all of these? May be answering some of these questions may help you assess yourself better and award marks to yourself. Can we begin, Pals?
1. As I woke up this morning, How many minutes did I spend with God in praying and studying His words?
2. As I dressed gorgeously to church today and people were admiring me, how much was God glorified?
3.The hymns were so sonorous that I sang with the whole of my heart as the choirmaster led but after singing, what step of faith have I taken?
4. The pastor's message was superb. It was as if I was coming across that passage for the first time, how many of it do I intend to work with.
5. After church service, the pastor gave everyone of us a warm handshake while his wife gave me a tight hug as my hussy and I walked towards our car but how have I impacted or encourage this godly family in return?
6. Just before getting to the car door, old family friends came around as we exchanged pleasantries. We smiled and laughed loudly as we cracked jokes but come to think of it, was God anywhere in all of these?
7. As hussy hurriedly drove us home to catch up with our appointment for 3 p.m, my three little children questioned us about everything they were taught in the children's church. I had to gently pat my husband for him not to loose his patience as we explained to the kids. Was God truly glorified with the answers I gave those innocently little souls?
8. I could hardly wait for prayers to be made over the food before I Started to eat until my eldest son reminded me that Daddy was yet to bless the food. I was ravenously hungry, I had to skip breakfast to get to church early enough but is God glorified or was I merely being religious?
9. I had hardly finished cleaning up the kitchen when the door bell rang, Rejoice and her husband had come to take us out. As we spoke over drinks, I could hardly concentrate because the kids were home alone with Alice, my new house help. Were exactly was God in all of our discussions? Although, I was enjoying seeing my husband and his friend lost in their business discussion but I must admit I was absent minded as I hoped the outing will soon be over.
10. As I laid in bed to sleep for the night, I ruminated over all the activities of the day,There was a nudge on my inside asking the same old question again. WHERE IS GOD GLORIFIED IN ALL OF THESE?
As we journey heavenward, we cannot be like the foolish Galatians but instead like the Berean Christians . WE MUST THOUGHTFULLY ACT AND SPEAK JUST TO GLORIFY GOD!
Your Friend in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
