Hi friends,
It is a necessity that we
continually remind ourselves of God’s promises and deeds on this kingdom
highway so that we do not get wearied and give up before we attain our desired
haven. To this effect we will be examining the above topic with reference to
Job in the Old Testament during his time of crisis and how our redeemer came
through for him.
The book of Proverbs 19:25- 26
says,
For I know
that my redeemer lives, and he shall stand at last on the last day, and after
my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God.
A redeemer is someone who redeems.
To redeem means to repay, recover, save or most importantly to exchange
something for something else. Other
synonyms for redeemer is liberator, deliverer, rescuer, savior, and good
shepherd, Jesus Christ etc.
As believers who are heaven minded and
on our way to the Promised Land, our redeemer is no other person than Jesus
Christ, the son of the living God who paid the ultimate price for man’s
salvation with His own precious blood on Calvary.
As if this is not enough after
redeeming man from eternal damnation , He is still very present with every
genuine child of God to redeem us from trials, temptations, challenges,
troubles and tribulations.
Little wonder, Christ forewarned
that in this world we would have tribulations but He gave us the assurance that
we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world for us and will
always be with us always.
Brother Job in the scriptures had a
balanced understanding of God’s Word and ways therefore He was able to stay put
with Jesus all the way even in his time of tribulations. He never wavered or
doubted God even in the face of pressures and criticism.
Job didn’t just see God as being
our redeemer he saw Christ as his redeemer which connotes a very personal
relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord of the way. He was sure and confident of
his place with God that he said I know He will stand for me.
He was so rest assured that even if
he dies and his skin is destroyed, he shall see God. Waow! Such audacity and
confidence in God even in his trying times every one had forsaking him to his
predicament. Yet, he could still hold onto God firmly.
This type of faith goes beyond the
level of hearing or seeing. It is about a knowing and an understanding of God
that is so personal and real. This type of affirmation is beyond controversy. He
was so sure of seeing God that there was no fear of death.
Life could be difficult and full of
a lot of uncertainties. Much more difficult is the kingdom highway that Jesus Himself
said narrow is the way and strait is the path. He even forewarned that they
that will live godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Dear friends, have you developed
this kind of relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you have a knowing of
His ways and deeds? Can you make bold to say that even if He slays you, you
will still trust Him?
This heavenly race is a trade of
absolute trust and obedience to the Lord God Almighty all the way and come what
may. May we be graciously and
marvelously helped on this eternal Highway.
See you at the heavenly shores on
that glorious morning. God bless and keep you all the way.
Your friend and Pilgrim in the Kingdom
race,
Pastor Janet

A very wonderful message, I am glad to know that my Redeemer liveth.
