Hi friends,
Too many times the Christian pilgrims have been oppressed,
depressed, obsessed and even frustrated on this Kingdom Highway which ought not
to be so. This has been so simply because they have forgotten to call on the
Lord of the way.
It is with this understanding that the Psalmist made a
proclamation in the book of Psalm 18:1 - 3 which says;
I will love thee, o Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my
deliverer; my God my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler; and the horn
of my salvation; and my high tower, I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to
be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies
The Psalmist took out his time to declare his love for the
Lord his God in the place of worship. You could just imagine some of the
qualifiers and encomiums he used for God in the place of worship. After which
he said he would call upon the Lord who alone is worthy to be praised.
Who do you worship? Who do you call upon in the times of trials
and difficulty? Who occupies the innermost part of your being? God or man or
self? Situation and circumstances or the weight and height of your mountain? Who
is at the center and helm of your life affairs?
At a time in the scriptures certain converts came to the
realization of their errors and ran to Apostle Peter for help. The Apostle did
emphatically point to Jesus the Lord of the way when He told them that they ‘that
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!’
In my little walk with God, I am yet to see a man who has
called upon Jesus genuinely and has been turned away by the Lord. To the best
of my knowledge and experience, a fellow man will only compound your problems
or better still give it an entirely different interpretation or outlook.
Man is bound to fail you because of his human limitations.
Self will fail because it has been divinely programmed that by the arm of flesh
shall no man prevail. It is at this level of self that the devil finds a
foothold and comes in just to steal, kill and destroy.
Today by the same help divine that I have received of the Lord,
I admonish you to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, healing,
deliverance and victory in the midst of life’s battles. I counsel you to run to
the well of living waters where the weary pilgrim receives succor.
I dare you to call upon Jesus and see him do for you beyond
your expectation and imagination. I plead with you to love my Jesus because He
alone can save to the uttermost those who call upon His name.
He never sleeps, He never slumbers. He never gets weary or
tired of hearing and answering your prayers, He is the ever present help in the
times of need and the only who is ever beautiful for all situation of our lives
no matter how ugly or unpleasant it may look to the eye of man.
Why not call upon Him whose arms are not too short to save
and whose ears are not too dull to hear the slightest mutter of prayer from a
sincere heart? Why not ask help from Him who is the help of the helpless and
the Hope of the faithful? Why not bow in humility to worship Him who is the
Lord of all.
Call upon the Lord today and He will show forth for you
because He is only a prayer away. Halleluyah!
I hope to see you at the eternal shores where we will sing
the song of victory and dance the dance of overcomers. There also we will receive a grand welcome
home from the Master Himself,
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
