I Will Lift My Eyes To The Hills

Hi friends,

The Journey heaven ward is full of a lot of ups and downs and I will want to encourage our dear weary hearts to always look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith no, matter how wearying the journey seems to be.

Several decades ago, I was privileged to listen to a woman of God who gave this illustration in her ministration.

She said, ‘Each time I look around  me, I feel depressed. Each time I look at myself, I feel impressed but each time I look at Jesus , I feel encouraged . She went on further to explain that she feels depressed each time she tries to compare herself with others.

Does that not further explain the fact that Jesus said, comparing themselves with themselves, they became vain and foolish in their imaginations?

She is impressed looking at herself as the Adamic nature with its tendency to be proud tells her,’Yes, you have arrived’ and possibly like Nebuchadnezzar  who forgot God and felt that the entire Babylonian kingdom was built by His human effort.

It does not really matter where you are right now but what matters is that your are a sojourner on the highway of holiness neither does it matter how rich or poor you are because the life of a man does not consists in the abundance of what he has.

The account of men about you or the accusation of the enemy of your soul is inconsequential what matters most is that you have a high priest who is able to succor you in the midst of your life battles and challenges.

Why not look away from every other distractions and lift your eyes unto Jesus who alone can help you without upbraiding. He is the Lord of all and unlimited by any human factor.

He does as He pleases. the way He pleases and at the time He pleases. Lift your eyes to the lifter of men and the helper of the helpless. Lift your eyes to the author and the finisher of your faith who is also the architect of your salvation.

Your help is in looking at Jesus. Your miracle is in looking away from your immediate surrounding and at the author and finisher of our faith.

It makes little or difference how big or small your mountain is. The seemingly impossible situation is no problem to Him. Infact, the bigger your troubles , the more delighted God is to manifest Himself 

Jesus is the only sure and assured helper of the Christian Pilgrim on this eternal high way. Learn the secret of looking up to Jesus by lifting your eyes to Him!
