Hi friends,
As we move closer home to our
eternal abode, permit me to remind us that it does not matter how low it seems
you are placed in life, our God is a lifter of men!
The book of 1 Samuel 2:7-9 says
something we must always take to heart as we walk this narrow high way. It
says;
The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth
low, and lifteth up. He
raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and liftethup the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among
princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the
pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world
upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the
wicked shall be silent in
darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. (KJV)
Of recent I was privileged to attend the golden jubilee celebration of a
close relation of mine. After all said and done I could not but appreciate this
our God who delights in picking men from the dungeon and placing them at tables
to dine with kings.
I happen to have known the
celebrant for as long as I lived. I remember how we were growing up and both
had a very humble background. I remember vividly well how we could not have
some of the basic things our friends had that we desired too but never got from
our loving but poor parents.
Now at fifty she is singing a new
song!
As I quietly watched and absorbed
all that took place at this glamorous occasion, I saw affluence of everything. We
used one of the best halls in town and very recent clothes and fashionable ones
at that were made available to relations of the family. Assorted foods and
drinks were in excess.
All through this glamorous
occasion, she kept singing the praise of her beloved husband whom God has used
to take her to this place of destiny. The peak of it was when her husband gave
her a very recent jeep model car for her 50th birthday gift.
The husband when called to give the
vote of thanks was almost mentioning every member of his congregation as he
appreciated their support. He said he had pastored in sixteen different countries
but this particular assembly was exceptional!
Many celebrities from different
walks of life were there to grace the occasion and they came with their “myrrh,
gold and frankincense” like the biblical three wise men who came to see “The
new born king” during the birth of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
I do not intend to bore you by
telling you this story but I want to testify to what I have seen God doing in
the lives of men and I can assure you that yours will not be an exception in
Jesus name, amen.
There a few lessons we must take
home as pilgrims if we are to land safely on heaven’s shore. Please take note
of these:
Ø That your
beginning is small does not mean you are destined to die small.
Ø Appreciate
God at your low level with the understanding that it is He who lifts men.
Ø The report
of men concerning you is not the report of heaven, listen to God’s report.
Ø You need a
destiny helper in order to fulfill your God ordained purpose, do not despise
anyone.
Ø When you
are lifted to where you ought to be, stretch forth a helping hand to those that
are down.
Ø Your time
is in the hands of God and not any man, learn to wait for God.
Ø You need to
be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing for you to get
your rights in life.
Ø
Beloved, as you take a closer walk
with the Lord Jesus Christ, I see you attaining to that height of glory not just here on earth
but in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ in glory.
Your friend and fellow Pilgrim in
the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet.
