Hi friends,
As we go further to
look at this topic, we need to have a proper understanding of the topic we are
looking at. For us to have this understanding it will be good to look at the
meaning of the key words in the topic of our discussion.
We will still be
examining the same scriptures as in the part I of this teaching from Judges 16:2-4
which reads thus:
And it was told the Gazites, saying,
Samson is come hither.
And they compassed him in, and laid
wait for him all night
in the gate of the city, and were
quiet all the night, saying,
In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill
him. And Samson
lay till midnight, and arose at
midnight, and took the doors
of the gate of the city, and the two
posts, and went away with
them, bar and all, and put them upon
his shoulders, and carried
them up to the top of an hill that is before
Hebron. (KJV)
The three key words in the topic are:- possessing, Gates and
enemies and we examine their various meanings from the biblical perspective. These
meanings are stated below.
Possessing:-
having as belonging to one
Gates:- The Bible shows us clearly in the Old Testament that the
vulnerability and strength of a fortress or stronghold always rested in
its gates. Whoever
controlled the gates of the
stronghold ruled the city. The gates of
a city were very significant.
Enemy: a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or
something.
Other
synonyms for the word enemy are:-
|
|
foe, adversary, opponent, rival, nemesis, antagonist, combatant, challenger, competitor, opposer, hostile
party; the opposition, the competition, the other side, the
opposing side, co-rival.
If
we look closely at this topic, it simply means “having access to the
strongholds of the person/persons who is actively opposed or hostile to you
and your God ordained destiny.
This
person or persons is no other than the devil and his cohorts. If at all you see
him come through any individual, such ones are just channels but he is the
master-minder of all evils.

As long as you are on this
kingdom pilgrimage the devil, the arch- enemy of your soul has sworn to destroy
you and yours. You must be proactive as enabled by the Holy Spirit so as to
overcome all his scheming and devices.
To give the believer the proper perspective,
the Bible on several occasions did call the believer a soldier for Christ.
Infact, it advised the Christian Pilgrim to be sober and vigilant because his
adversary, the devil walketh about seeking whom He may devour whom we must
resist steadfastly.
All you need to possess the enemy’s
stronghold is made available to you. All you need is to rise up in faith and by
faith as Samson did and your victory will be delivered to you.
If you must prevail over your sworn
enemy the devil. You must go all the way to possess his strongholds over your
life, family and ministry.
You cannot afford to be a loser in the
journey of destiny and its fulfillment. Rise up now and take hold of that which
heaven has delivered to you.
Your friend and
fellow pilgrim in the Kingdom race,
Pastor Janet
