Hi friends,
It is another day
today as we move closer home and we cannot but remind ourselves of the key
issue in this great call with which the Lord of this journey has called us.
He has not
called us to shame, ridicule, hardship or failure even though there could times
of momentary wilderness experiences as he deems fit!
But He places a
demand on us which is mandatory of every Heaven minded Christian which until it
is obeyed to the latter the pilgrim stands the risk of not actualizing God’s
absolute blessings and benefits in this pilgrimage.
The demand
heaven placed on the believer is that of leaving the world and its value to
cleave onto Him and Him alone. Before Abraham could really be called the
blessed of the Lord, He had to leave the gods of the Chaldean's, his country and
father’s house to cleave to the God of Israel.
In Genesis
12:1-3 NKJV I quote
Now the Lord had
said to Abram:
Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father's house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses
you;
And in you all the families of
the earth shall be blessed.
Little wonder in
instituting marriage, God said therefore
shall a man leave his father and mother to cleave to his wife. Where there
is no leaving there cannot be cleaving. That explains why the Christian race
his likened to a marriage relationship!
When a man does
not leave his country, his family and his father’s house, he his emotionally
attached, spiritually attached even though he might not be physically or
attached.
Too many times
spiritually the values, traditions and even the gods to which the family is attached
might not allow the Christian fulfill his purpose or have an enduring Christian
walk with God where the individual does not come out.
Fellow Christians and
pilgrim, it is high time we come out so we can have a fulfilling and enduring walk
with Christ to enable us could have a safe landing on the shores of our eternal abode.
Pray and ask God for this
grace to be separated for the Lord indeed so He can put His seal of son ship on
you for a life of fulfillment here and in the hereafter.
God bless you beloved
friends and yoke bearers.
Your friend and fellow
Pilgrim in the Kingdom Race,
Pastor Janet
