Hi friends,
As we
journey further having eternity in view, let us not forget the core reason of
our pilgrimage which is the fear of God.
Too many times fellow men ,situations of life and attacks
from the kingdom of darkness tend to harass and embarrass us all in the bid to
take the fear of God away from our hearts. Therefore it becomes very paramount
for us to make conscious and deliberate efforts to imbibe the fear of God.
The fear of the Lord is
the beginning of wisdom: and knowledge
of the Holy is
understanding. Proverbs
9:10
The Bible enjoins us not to put the fear of man, devil or
situation ahead of God because such fear will only ensnare us but as for the
fear of God, it is the ultimate to the Pilgrim who intends to land safely on
the other side of eternity.
The great King Solomon and the wisest king who ever lived
called the fear of God to be the conclusion of the whole of man’s existence.
In the above scripture he said the fear of God is the
beginning of wisdom. By implication the pilgrim who wants to be wise and show
he has understanding of this holy God and His word must choose to fear God.
How I wish that most, if not all of us who profess to be Christians
will fear God in our day to day dealings with fellow humans, in our homes and
churches. I tell you our world would have been a better place!
If truly we fear God as we profess, we would have been making
a greater impact and winning more souls to God’s kingdom. If we truly fear this our God and father doing
His will, will not have been a problem to us.
The fear of God in us would have sanitized our society and
eliminate the evils and corruption we tend to witness every day. But what do we
see? The fear of man, fear of lack has turned us to money mongers, cheats, and custodians
of ill-gotten wealth. We have become miracle seekers than God chasers, what a
shame!
The church of Jesus of necessity must once again embrace the
awesome fear of God that kept the saints of old pure and faultless in the midst
of their calamities and life challenges. We cannot but ask God Almighty Himself
to birth His fear afresh in our hearts.
God bless you as we all once again return to the cross of
Jesus where our pilgrimage and sojourn all began for a better understanding of
the rules of our sojourn here on earth.
Your friend
and fellow pilgrim in the kingdom race,
Pastor Janet
